Motherhood sounds like such a heavy word. It sounds very dowdy and uncool. I like to think that I’m completely opposite. I would rather be awesome, fun and cool but really, I answer to three needy children, slap makeup on in under 3 minutes and think pj’s and Netflix are what make a Friday night amazing.
I always knew that I wanted to be a mom. I always had the desire to have babies and stay at home. I always knew that it was meant to be. I do enjoy being at home (my introvert life goals happen every day) and I do love being a mom but let me tell you, it’s not for the faint of heart. It’s day in, day out. Messy. Angry. Filthy. Tiring. Exhausting. Full of ‘Seriously?’ or ‘Are you Kidding Me?’ moments. Laundry. So. much. laundry. Sticky Floors. Couch Full of Crumbs. Every. Day.
But it’s so, so good. Even when it’s ugly. Welcome to my mommy brain zone. I am so far beyond perfect but I’ve learned a thing or two over the years that may bring encouragement to other moms on this journey.
