It seems like our entire day is built around food. In our home, we wake up and eat food. We clean up breakfast and want a snack. We play and are ready for lunch. After nap, we want a snack. After our snack, we patiently wait for dinner to hit the table. Just before bed, we hear ‘I’m hungry!’

Seems as though our day revolves around food.

I enjoy cooking and baking. I love to create yummy food but I don’t enjoy taking an hour to make yummy food. If a recipe is very involved I tend to simplify it or save it for a special occasion.

Since I overhauled the way we eat, I have found such joy in creating tasty food that is healthy and nourishing. From the time our kids started eating solids they were given nourishing foods that keep them healthy and growing. Don’t get me wrong, I still toss food pouches or granola bars to my kids but for the most part, we eat healthy.

I am frugal to the bone so I am very in tune with our grocery budget. When we made the shift to healthier eating I did have to increase our grocery budget a little but really, there are ways to stay healthy without spending a ridiculous amount of money.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. It doesn’t have to be boring. It does not have to be expensive.
